Good voice. The piece is horrid though. She'd sound better with just voix blanche instead of all those trills and vibrati. She sounds like someone mimicking a dead person in a bad ghost movie. Kinda creepy. Pity. Beautiful timbre.

Sorry, the piece is one of the classics of the repertoire. Ms. de Andrade is a terrible singer. She doesn't use any trills in this performance, and her vibrato is digusting. I agree about the dead person part. I really doubt you can find "beautiful timbre" anywhere in this mess.

Heh, now that you mention it, I just didn't want to say. Some folks get sensitive about this stuff. I dunno, though, she does have a voice that could've been something if she'd really learned how to sing. You do have to listen hard for it. Very hard. Since we're being candid, it's an excruciating performance. Yes, dead eprson. Or, someone being severely shaken while being poked in the back side with a hot iron.

This sounds like the vocal technique used in old-fashioned Hawaiian music. It sounds good in that context. But as opera, it stinks. Sorry. Beautiful voice in it's own right. Really bring me back to the moonlight over Hilo bay...
