'Wake up' and 'Awake' are different. 'Wake up' would suggest that the current system needs to re-evalute itself and change. 'Awake' would suggest that the system is fine how it is.

It's a misconception that the ACLU is a liberal organization. A traditionally liberal standpoint on civil liberties would allow them to be taken away if the gains outweigh the cost. FDR (Democrat) was responsible for the internment camps of WWII. Ronald Reagan (Republican) apologized and put forth reparations for this violation of civil liberties. The ACLU is a conservative organization, defending historical, fundamental rights of US citizens. Does anyone understand the difference anymore?
