This scene is a pure cinematographic orgasm.
The movie in itself is an all-time classic that will be dazzling even in 100 years - like the timeless Merian C. Cooper "King Kong", I guess.
Or how 4 geniuses (Lucas as producer, Spielberg as director, Ford as an actor, Williams as composer) have combined their efforts to achieve a miracle...

"Raiders" way back in 1981 at my local cinema. God it makes me feel almost as old as Harrison Ford.

I often put this music on when looking at the photographs I took at Dahshur in May 2006. The pyramids there are almost as big as those at Giza but apart from half a dozen locals completely deserted.

Keep in mind this scene is slightly less than halfway through the movie, but the music makes it sound like it's toward the end, the beginning of the last big chapter....
And what about the length of the staff? Isn't it supposed to be shorter than Indy (5 kadams is about 5 feet)?
And the refraction of the sun, shouldn't the staff only work once (or twice) a year when the sun is at a certain celestial latitude?
